Large areas of rangeland in the western half of Nebraska are at high risk Rangeland Carbon Credits...Getting Started (PDF, 8 pg, 360 KB) Carbon credits are an agreement between you and aggregates that you will have a certain amount of "green" or grass that will sequester carbon. Carbon credits are available for rangeland, no-till (includes alfalfa), seeded area, and tree plantings. Carbon credits are voluntary, but a legal, binding document. Carbon credits are a live market, so the price fluctuates. You need 3 documents to get started: 1) Ranch narrative (PDF, 4 pg, 103 KB), 2) Number of acres, and 3) Grazing Records. Companies buying carbon credits include: SunOne Solutions (402.817.4317), AgraGate (1.866.633.6758), National Farmers Union (1.800.347.1961), and Dogwood (1.88.829.0084).
